Slow Cooker Cranberry Shredded Chicken

Use this chicken as a stand alone meat item, but it's also great in a hot pulled-chicken sandwich or served on a fresh, warm biscuit.

Equipment

  • 1 crock pot

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts boneless skinless
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 cup French dressing
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, French dressing, and onion soup mix until well combined.
  • Pour the cranberry mixture over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is well coated.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  • Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and stir it back into the sauce.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Note that the cooking time is based on the setting (high or low) on your crock pot. See instruction 4.
