Slow Cooker Cranberry Shredded Chicken
Use this chicken as a stand alone meat item, but it's also great in a hot pulled-chicken sandwich or served on a fresh, warm biscuit.
Equipment
- 1 crock pot
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts boneless skinless
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
- 1/2 cup French dressing
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish optional
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, French dressing, and onion soup mix until well combined.
- Pour the cranberry mixture over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is well coated.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and stir it back into the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Note that the cooking time is based on the setting (high or low) on your crock pot. See instruction 4.
