A short 3-hour drive from Molino Basin took us to a condo in Surprise, AZ, temporarily occupied by my sister, Jacquie, and her husband, Dan.
We had a great time is Surprise! We celebrated Dan’s birthday, shopped at Bookmans (used book store…and more), and ate some great food.
We also took a side trip to Las Vegas for a few days. We happened to be there during the Lunar New Year, so the Bellagio Conservatory was decked out and beautiful as usual. I love that most everything there is made of fresh flowers.
Our favorite thing to do in Vegas is to walk, and that’s exactly what we did! We walked, we ate, we walked more and we ate more! We like to watch You tube videos that review restaurants and check out new places each time we visit. This visit, we went downtown for an afternoon and, as usual, we walked through all of the casinos/resorts from one end of the strip to the other.
In fact, we revisited the MGM Grand, where we stayed during our wedding 20 years ago. We even took a selfie in front of the MGM lion. We look a little different than we did 20 years ago…but the lion looks the same!
One of the highlights of our trip, after returning to Surprise, was a day trip to Cave Creek, AZ. It’s a great little western town with fun shops and restaurants–well worth the drive. And, it’s always great to hang out with family!
