Just outside of Baraboo, WI is the Skillet Creek Campground. It’s a full-service campground with bathrooms, shower, restaurant, and man-made swimming beach. We met sister Jacquie’s family there for “adult” campout weekend.
Online, the campground looked like it caters mostly to large RVs. But, we found that it also has some beautiful wooded and private sites for tent campers. Since we made a last-minute decision to go, we were lucky to get the last tent site available on a Saturday night. It happened to be a nice level site where we were able to easily set up our small pop-up camper.
We had a great time with the family, talking and laughing and just hanging out by the campfire. We were feeling pretty lucky, letting them feed us a soup buffet for dinner, and then a hearty, homemade breakfast the next morning. I could get used to that.
