Description
This is a lighter version of body butter that uses grapeseed oil, which absorbs more quickly into the skin. It's a little nicer for summer when you don't want to look "oily" after applying it. Because it's never melted it turns out to be a creamy, rich texture which feels great on your skin.
Ingredients
Instructions
Do not melt anything.
1) Spoon the shea butter into a deep bowl (you'll be using a mixer).
2) Add the grapeseed oil and arrowroot powder.
3) Use a hand mixer on a slow speed to cream the contents together until mixed well...and creamy in texture.
4) Add essential oils and stir to mix thoroughly.
5) Spoon into an 8 oz. jar and cover tightly. If consistency gets too liquid in texture, place in refrigerator until firm.
Notes
Obviously, you can use whichever essential oils you prefer. I just like this combination for overall skin care. Also, for a heavier, oilier butter you can switch out a few tablespoons of grapeseed oil for coconut or olive oil, or any other carrier.
Also, I like to sometimes switch a few tablespoons of sweet almond oil for the grapeseed oil...and then reduce the geranium oil by half. That adds a wonderful almond fragrance to the lotion.
